What makes a good writer? One who has a vocabulary that spans a dictionary, or perhaps one who is a mastermind at playing with words? What about one who can put their entire feelings into what they write and enable the reader to feel the same?
These were just some of the questions I was pondering before I fell asleep last night. I'm sure others have many more definitions of their own than I've listed here but those are some of the aspects I thought of simply because I was reminded of that movie 'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants'. That movie spawned the idea of us having a joint 'Traveling Diary' and I was just wondering why we chose a diary when it occurred to me that all four of us love to write and each do it in our own distinctive style. We've each left our mark on that diary that goes beyond handwriting or even some of the things we say. It is the way we say it.
I suppose the same goes for blogs. These days I spend hours reading blogs, going through archives of a particular blog that I found interesting and wanted to read more of. And many a time I found myself itching to just put up a 'printscreen' as my picture for Project 365 because that really is what I've done all day! But, no, proud to say I haven't succumbed to that temptation. Heh. In fact, what sparked the whim to hop on the bandwagon is exactly this - two bloggers I enjoyed reading who were doing their own Project 365, but what got me thinking today is also 'what makes an interesting read?'.
In the blogosphere it doesn't mean articulate words as in novels. Actually, I don't know what it means... I can't even tell you why I find some of the blogs I read interesting except to say it feels a little like getting to know someone better. So rather than comparing blogs to books in terms of enjoyment, I would say it is better to consider what it is about other individuals and characters that you find interesting because that is the essence of blogs. Or so I think.
Anyway~ after that long rant, I'mma put up a picture that has nothing to do with it but everything to do with my day...
I baked. ^.^
Feeling accomplished for the day: fulfilled.
