What the lazy Wore Wednesday

So! Fickle Vic is back Down Under and once again, bored. Sometimes. Not as much as before but still sometimes bored. And though probably no one reads this anymore cause, let's be frank, it was a pretty dismal disaster of a Project 365. It totally tanked once I returned to Malaysia with all photos going on Facebook instead of on here.

Having said that, I doubt I'll attempt it again soon.. we'll see. So instead, I'm going to try out another project!

Collective groans, aside, it's called What I Wore Wednesday and I read of it from this creatively resourceful woman who runs The Pleated Poppy. It's an accountability exercise where one posts all the outfits you've been wearing all week on Wednesday as added motivation to dress up each day.
What does this have to do with the theme of our blog? Well, though by no means do I call myself fashionable, what we wear is an expression of ourselves and for some people it is an art in itself. Just look at all the fantastic fashion blogs!

Though I'm a day late in joining this week's WIWW, I'll start today for it to be posted next week.
Old school USA street artist style? Right. Lol.
White shirt - thrifted, Skirt - Valley Girl, Tights - Target

Woke up today feeling that vibe, must be the crazy pattern skirt that I got for 5 bucks from Valley Girl.
Bright peach shirt with cut-off shoulders - Valley Girl, Jeans - Giordano

Simple ensemble thrown together for a Ladies' Movie Night at church. Please excuse the rather misty bathroom mirror, was in a bit of a hurry.

Dark olive green mesh top - Cotton On, Patterned khakis - Unbranded

This one was for Sunday at church. Had planned a different outfit altogether but the chilly rain weather put a bit of a damper on things. Nevertheless, cheered up with pretty floral detailing. :)

Cardi - Cotton On, Pink long top - Espirit

A less chilly day but I was taking no chances. The weather's fickle this week!

Jacket and tights - unbranded, Dress - gifted

I'm finally thinking I should do something about the poor lighting of my photos. Heh. Can't be helped for now especially when I'm not sure I should continue with this. Anywho, the dress was a going-away gift from a friend that I set aside specifically for spring. Chilly as it is today (again!) it was the perfect thing to brighten the day. :)

Stress and Movie = Inspiration

So yeah... We've left this place to rot again. It's not that we're not committed to it but we've got other commitments that need the bigger slice of our time. I have been doodling just that I didn't post them here. I know... Negligence!

This is the most appropriate time ever to post an entry. Two reasons; the first is, our rotten blog getting two nomination for 'Beautiful Blogger' (thank yous) and the other had to be exam stress.

It's weird how stress pushes me to the corner of 'escapism', or shall I say the continent of escapism. So here goes...

My more successful 'hair texture' doodle experiment. Coz everyone's doin' it! I decided to try also. I'm a bimbo like that.

This is a random inspiration during laundry when my bedsheet became a burial for bugs. It's the bugs season in uni at the mo. Wake up with many dead things on your bed, is stressful.

Ok, this one's got nothing to do with stress but a reallllllly good movie. I was watching The Shawshank Redemption.

Red said,

"I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright."

Immediately I got this in my mind, actually something more awesome but yeah...

Now, I'm just listening to random noise of joy from football audiences in the cafe far from my block. Enthusiasm, really does make a lot of noise. Loud united ones.

We is can has Beautiful Blogger award? Really?

Oooh guilt.. unbelievable what friends do for you, hang on to the dying projection of your mind even when you've walked off and forgotten all about it.

Well, Kaki Khayal's got its first award! The Beautiful Blogger award has been bestowed upon us by two very forgiving readers, Twisted Trainsistor and Teh Ais Limei probably more thanks to Mel than to me though. xP

After hatching Project 365, I happily up and ran off to chase other random things in life that make me happy and trippy. So much for fail proof project. Speaks volumes bout my attention span really. But here we has people giving us awards so must reciprocate and give them something worth their time typing out those award posts. Hur hur.

CPR

Hello to our barely surviving blog. We're such lousy kids... The project 365 went for a space trip while the doodling went for a world tour.

So here I am giving it some CPR 'cause it is a solid good reason to procrastinate. Literally we're very busy with other commitments such as working and trying to graduate. The trying to graduate here is cutting a chunk of slack but hey, we needa breather yo!

I have been doodling... just that I'm in no mood to write 'cause I'm occupied with other stuff. But since today my activities are almost non-existent, I'll blog here with mass upload/post; that is if you take 3 doods as mass la, ya.

This one is inspired by good old music that I've dug up and have been indulging on them like a royalty! A mix of nostalgia and food for soul.

The next two is dedicated to someone who means a lot to me but at the same time have the highest potential on not reading this. The champion at things like that won't deter me from posting 'cause just in case I'm wrong this time. I know I can be such a doof but what.ever.

Pentium II is our inside joke. It relates to us in the most apt way ever! and I am telling you, if you're reading, this joke will stay long time 'cause I really like it.

Lastly, Happy Birthday Dearest! We're on par, at least for another 1/2 a year. If you notice the colours, they are in swirls, it's because your life will be in a whirlpool of colours! So that you won't be a boring old man ^^ May your 22nd be a blessed blessed one!

Some lovin' from the Jelly, until IDUNNOWHENLADON'TASKME!

8, 9, 10: A big fat hen!

Ok, I was actually supposed to blog days 8 and 9 together because 10 is the one I wanted to use to rant but the days have caught up with me so we improvise, my friend..
The bad thing about taking one's time to blog is that I tend to forget what the mood at the time was. So, I'll be relying on the pictures to refresh my memory, so to speak. Heh.

Day 8

Yet another lazy day. A point emphasised by my very messy drawer top here. Ooh and white, crocheted bag makes another appearance! Yay. Mom gave me that red wallet for Christmas because she knows I love Domo-kun and the wallet itself is so cute, even if I don't fancy using such chunky wallets. Heh. And the calender I got at some university open day is what I've been using to tick off my days here.

Day 9
'4 hour walk day' about sums this one up. What can I say..my family loves food but I guess it's only fair that we love the outdoors as much. We started the walk by parking our car at Spit Bridge (yes, that's really what it's called) and then walking to Manly. There were many scenic spots like this one dotted along the walk, unfortunately the heat marred it. Almost everytime we stopped to enjoy the view, I'd have to move on after about 5 seconds cause the heat was searing!
Solar power was never more efficient for my speedwalking.

And this was also the day I took my first full dip into Australian waters. I'd been yearning to eversince I saw the gorgeous clear water but always forgot my swimsuit or was wearing sports shoes. This time round I got smart and brought along my trusty flip flops! Although the smarter thing to do would've been to just wear them there but nooooo 'it's a long walk' they said.

Still, it was a very enjoyable if tiring day - we stopped so often that four hours became all day plus lunch. :)

Day 10

On to less beautiful things.
A scab I got a week before Christmas on the family holiday.
It's healing nicely now though I know it still looks gross. But it also makes me think of what's going on in my home country right now because the wounds go much deeper than what's currently happening and unlike my scabs which will heal in say another week or so, these wounds were festering under the scabs that have now been peeled back to reveal the sore. I seem to have lost the picture though, so I can't post it. All for the best, I suppose.. one less disgusting scab picture for the Internetdom!

Touring the Food Island

Haha! Feels like you've got conned? I am just covering for the other day with this first pic. It was a friend's birthday and this is to show you how we feast on cakes in uni. There's no plates needed we eat it from the box! I will miss this part of uni life a lot. I remembered my last birthday where I had three cakes from three different groups of people. We eat them all in our very own fashion.

Ok I have to admit that the quality of these shots are pretty bad. Can't blame me 'cause most of the time I got too excited and start nomming then I remembered that I need to take a pic. Then I proceed to take a pic and yeah... I lost my concentration as the food were too seductive. So here it is the second day at Penang. The first day was late at night and the food pic is not with me.

The second day also, we went to the Kek Lok Si Temple and Bukit Bendera, if you wonder why I took the pic of the kois rather than the architecture stuff, the kois were swimming in circles as if they were performing. So I got fascinated and took a pic of them. Secondly, there were people in the more architectural ones.

Here come the third day. The day we left Penang and head back to uni. Sigh... Oh well for the memory here is my friend's little puppy. This one is supposedly the "less cute" one but I like this one better 'cause it has the blur look and it looks like a little piglet to me.

I'll see what I can get today. Classes 'til 5.

Day 7: Chocolato~

And I thought simply taking a picture a day was going to be less work. Damn you, whatever OCD personality that lives in my brain!

Yes, I am aware that this is the third time I'm putting up food pictures but what the hey, some live to eat and some eat to live. The point is, we all eat. So, while normally all I'd do is slap on the watermark and date onto the pictures, these handmade chocolates cannot be done that simple injustice like that.

My mother was just lamenting that we forgot to break out the box and eat them in celebration of the new year, which I think was my intention when I bought them on a trip to Leura with my aunt and her friends a few days before the new year. But we had that cherry chocolate cake on that night too and I believe we were stuffed. No points for guessing if we live to eat or eat to live.

Leura is apparently known for these chocolates and no wonder. The flavours they come up with and the smooth texture of each piece makes it worth the treat if you happen to drop by there. We, unfortunately, couldn't sit at their cafe to sip hot chocolate on that cold misty day as their cafe was closed. :(

Still, no harm eating them today...we can always commemorate having another day together as a family, enjoying something we all love. The simple things need not be overlooked all the time after all. :)
