Miracle
My last post said I've got something for tomorrow... but I got distracted with some other lazy things. Somehow, I forgot about all the days in between and make today that "tomorrow" ^^. On top of that, I suddenly feel that I don't like my painting. So here is what I'll show you.
Surprise! It's a miracle!
Miracles are like bonuses to the hopefuls or rather a first prize for those who had given up.
Worthy of celebration and to some typical Asian, a sign of luck that shall bring more good news and happiness. Which explains why the line at the 4-Ds are like KL's traffic during peak hours.
Today, another pot of our Orchid is blooming. One after another... simple things like this brings joy to me. On this Sunny Saturday, looking at the beautiful flowers with the fragrant filled air against the bright blue sky with the organza-like clouds... I bring myself to appreciate life in a non-materialistic way. Just old cotton clothes, bare-feet, me, and nature.

Malaysian Humour
Being Asian and living in Asia, one would know how stressful exams are. I guess this should explain my absence here and this piece is to depict the Malay proverb "Otak Beku" which literally means "Frozen Brain".
Finally the brain has gone through some defrosting and is coming back. Happy Holidays to everyone who has ended the excruciating torture of grilling seats in the exam halls.
I've got something new for tomorrow!

The Auto-Shuffle Weather
Lately the reality weather has been on this crazy loop of auto-shuffle. I had to run in and out for the laundry like a mad woman looking for her imaginary chicken. Not fun at all. The other day's auto-shuffle must've met malfunction from all the previous looping and shuffling. So it was both sunny and rainy at the same time. The first thing that came to my mind was RAINBOW! I love rainbows and it has been quite some time since I saw one. Yet, I didn't see one yesterday... so much for hoping. So I decided to draw one! =D

Attempt
Hehe... My first attempt with pen tool! I wanted to make a logo for us and I tried googling for footprint vectors and all of that... I found some really nice ones but the pixels are either too tiny or they come with watermarks... I had no other choice but to learn this ever-scary pen tool which I have tried with the wrong technique. I googled again... this time around, it's for tutorials on pen-tooling.
There you go! The banner of Kaki Khayal is brought to you by the first timer Mel! Its not perfect but I braved it =)

Listen To What You Want
UPDATED!
I shall update this soon. Its near to 2 a.m. in reality time. The image is pretty lousy but shall come back with a finished version. I might want to Sharpie-fy it... Or I might leave it as it is with some touch up and clean up.
As I promised... the complete piece, which I colorized... I couldn't resist the temptation...
I use my earphones most of the time as I live in a room of four. They are my secret weapon in bringing myself to focus. They are also the second best thing that's ever invented after instant noodles (a student's perception). Sorry for the monotonous writing... I am incredibly sleepy at the moment. G'night!

Quote Inspiration
Hello! Sorry for the absence... Resumes took up all my time. Slow Internet contributed to the time loss. Anyway, just a really short update...
This time around it's a quote. Not gonig to say which one 'cause it'll be so easy to figure out what I drew. I am a sucker for being "mysterious" though I am pretty much an open book. To which explains why I want to be 'mysterious'. It's a 'if you don't have it, you want it' kind of chemistry.
So here goes...
I don't know how you will see this as... but my roomie asked me...
"Why are there strings coming from the eye?"

Connecting People?
As I was searching for my inspiration today, which was mediocre... it came across to me that my material companion is my phone. Standing by me or rather, attached to me at all times. Being a Generation Y, I have to admit that I rely on technology to live. My phone whom I named Terrence has been loyal to me since the day I got him and we lead a happy life together, with some conflicts at times. More often than not, Terrence had helped bring the gap between some people and I closer. Thus the inspiration for today is non other than Terrence himself and to show my gratitude to him, I drew a 'portrait' of him :)

Music-spires
The tropical weather had it today. Total pwnage! Its sunny then rainy and is still rainy. With the roomies taking turns to rain-nap, I tried hard connecting to the broadband that has been acting like a 4-year-old throwing tantrums over plastic toys, its not inspiring. That was how it felt, until Bob Marley reggae-ing took over the Beatles.
Having this weather-bond syndrome made me all gloomy and like the rain, teary over the lyrics. At the same time I was also talking to my other bestie who lives near the 'BFFs Robber', over MSN about things that both of us are swimming in... The weather, the lyrics, the voice, the talking... Came Sharpies and Faber Castell and the connection to a gloom-bum. All that mathematics and science resulted to this...
Bob Marley made this happen.
Title of the song: Three Little Birds by Bob Marley and The Wailers (no wonder the "rain") I so didn't see it coming. -_-"
p/s: The other khayal partner is off for a long weekend get-a-way as its their Labour Day.

The Kaki Khayals
Hello! I am Mel, one of the Kaki Khayals. My Khayal partner is Vicky. We came up with this name 'Kaki Khayal' from our doodling sessions and for the fact that both of us are daydreamers. The name is a street lingo that means daydreamers from the Malay language. Seeing that we are Malaysians... this is our contribution to our country which contain a little sentiment for something we both share.
The idea of this blog is to record our khayalans and our inspirations as we are in lack of them at the moment. My khayal partner has gone to a place where most Malaysians would be flocking to 'The BFF Robber' called Australia. Therefore, to avoid conflicts I've decided to reside in Canary Island with her in this blog.
The main reason I told her about this idea over MSN Messenger is the fact that as I grow, my playground become less fun. My inspirations are running low... I need to bring myself back to the state where everything is fun and exciting like it was 10 or 15 years ago, when the simple things such as colourful soap bubbles and yellow ribbons makes me excited and happy.
So that's part of our story as well as mine. Tomorrow, I'll start a day where small simple things shall be inspirational.
p/s: remember that in reality I live in Bolehland. So the date system might be pretty screwed up ;p
